About The SCMFC

We are a small group of local flyers with an interest in all aspects of RC fight. We fly at a beautiful site in South Cambridgeshire, just North of Royston within easy reach of Cambridge, Baldock, Hitchin, Letchworth and Stevenage. The field is private, quiet and tranquil and sits hidden from view surrounded by farmland just off the A1198.

The club has been in operation at the same site for many years and during that time we have continued to improve the facilities paying particular attention to the neatly kept runway strip. We have a graveled area to park and several benches to prepare our models for a flying session.

The club objectives are to promote interest in the aeromodelling hobby, create friendships and improve on skills.

Models flown at the club vary considerably which makes it all the more interesting. There is no bias towards any particular model type and you will find an array of aircraft being flown most weekends, especially during the summer months. The club lends itself very well to almost all disciplines and we regularly see large turbine helicopters being flown or even 4m powered gliders.

Access to the field is via key coded gate and the flying season runs for as long as you can stand the cold!

Please see our Membership Page for more information on the clubs facilities and membership opportunities available for 2022.

Variety is the spice of life... Scatch Builds, ARTF, Powered Gliders, Turbine Helis, Scale Helis, Petrol, Nitro, Lipo...it's all here!
